More improvements to Bumble

Bumble
1 Aug 2013, 6:18 p.m.

It's a holiday here for Swiss National Day and, amidst the intermittent sounds of firecrackers going off, David and I have been working on improving Bumble. Most of the changes we've made are bug fixes and tweaks to existing features.

RSS

  • RSS now provides absolute URLs, so the problem with Slick RSS that Martin pointed out here should be fixed. (Please let us know if that's not the case!)
  • Markdown in the lead paragraph of an entry is now interpreted.
  • There are timestamps.
  • The content type is specified as application/atom+xml.

Comments

  • The admin of a Bumble blog is now emailed when a new comment is left (so I have no excuses for neglecting comments here).
  • Comments have permalinks.
  • The ReCAPTCHA box should look less wonky, and only appears when there is text in the comment box.

Misc

  • There is now a basic 404 page.
  • New entries can be scheduled.
